Contact and Corrections
Found a meaning that is wrong, a name that is missing, or a pronunciation you would say differently? This is the place.

Corrections
Every name page shows its meaning and a word-by-word breakdown. If you know a meaning is wrong, or a spelling is missing its ʻokina or kahakō, send the name, the correction, and if possible where it comes from, such as a dictionary entry, a family record, or your own knowledge as a speaker. Corrections from Hawaiian speakers and from families who carry a name are given the most weight, and the page is updated with the next build.
Suggesting a name
The site lists every name it knows. To add one, send the name, its meaning, its gender if any, and how it is said. Names built from common elements are labeled as modern combinations unless there is evidence of traditional use, and that evidence is what turns a label off.
Anything else
Press, partnership, and licensing questions go to the same address. The dataset behind the site is not sold, but the sources it is compiled from are all listed on the about page.
